Fluence Bioengineering Appoints Lead Scientist for Controlled Environment Agriculture Research

David Hawley to Lead Research and Development and Facilitate Knowledge Sharing with Industry Thought Leaders and Partners

Austin, Texas – November 6, 2018 – Fluence Bioengineering Inc. is pleased to announce David Hawley is now employed and leading horticultural research in the Fluence Photobiology Lab. Hawley will enable Fluence to leverage the latest in academic research and produce innovative solutions which further improve production and processing capabilities in customer facilities.

Prior to joining Fluence, Hawley had conducted research around horticultural lighting, focusing on photosynthesis, morphology, and metabolism, while incorporating many other aspects of controlled environment management. Hawley holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and has developed numerous lighting applications to improve plant yield and quality. His findings are currently being used in commercial production settings in Eastern Canada.

The Fluence Photobiology Lab conducts proprietary research and collaborates with universities and federal institutions from around the world to advance plant and environmental sciences.
